On the 9th of September 2023, the TU Wien Library is inviting the public to a day of guided tours through our building as a part of the Open House Wien event. Participants will learn more about the role of research libraries as knowledge infrastructures and our Citizen Science activities. Open House Wien aims to open up architecture, encouraging the public to engage with their built environment. Being Austria’s largest university library for engineering and natural sciences, we will explain the history of our building and show places of learning and research as well as the otherwise not accessible library stacks and roof terrace. In our recently opened Data Visualisation Space (Davis), we will highlight our Citizen Science experiments carried out in OPUSH and show the advantages of data visualisation for urban innovation. The event will contribute to our goal of transforming the TU Wien Library into an open space for every citizen.
